February 6th my babies had some surgery done. Maelie had her tonsils out and Jentry had tubes put in her ears and her lip clipped. Last year Maelie had strep throat 8 times and tonsilitis twice. We thought it was time to get those babies out so she wasn't sick so much!! She did so good in her surgery and her recovery was pretty good. She had days where she thought she was dying, but for the most part she did really well!! I am glad to say that she has not had strep throat since they have been gone.
On the same day Jentry got tubes put in her ears and her lip clipped. One of her eardrums had so much fluid that it wasn't working to well and she couldn't hear out of it. I kept wondering why she wasn't talking very much!! Also one day in January I noticed Jentry's mouth was bleeding. She wasn't crying so I started to explore. I notice that her upper lip was connected to her gums. It was connected between her two front teeth. I took her to the dentist and he said that she would need to get it clipped because it was making her mouth form funny. He said he could do it, but would have to wait until she was older because he would have to put her under. I told him she was getting tubes and he said to see if they would just do it. Well the ENT said he would so not only did she get tubes that day she got her lip clipped and it was kind of gross. Coming out of the anastetics was not very fun for her. She screamed for about 45 minutes!! She threw apple juice, popsicles and her binky! It was a little stressful when we were trying to take care of two kids that were coming out of it, but thankfuly Maelie was so tired that we had a hard time even waking her up. The good thing was that after Jentry calmed down she was good to go and you would have never known that she just had surgery.
The next 10 days with Maelie were good and bad. She would have really good days and then really really bad days. I felt so bad for her, but in the long run it was the best thing we could have done for her!!
